Varro (the Beagle Mix in the video) started at Maple Leaf K9 as a private training client when was 9 months old. Shortly after starting training, owners had him trial our daycare program to see if structured socialization would help meeting Varro's needs as a socially motivated young pup.
Initially Varro was overstimulated around dogs. For his first few months, he regularly attended daycare on our low-key Wednesdays to start him off with the right energy and association around social time. As he matured and became more proficient at navigating dog-to-dog interactions in a social context, Varro was able to become a regular member of our fun-loving Tuesday and Thursday crew.
Fast forward to this month where, in the video, you'll see Varro helping out a young and easily overstimulated pup play in an appropriate and healthy manner. This didn't just happen -- it was cultivated through consistent and manageable exposure in a structured environment. Here we are, though, 8 months later, watching it come around full circle.
